Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang said that the decision to leave office by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will cause delay to the Penang Second Bridge project to the end of 2011. H He said “Penang needs the bridge and the state government is worried that the Prime Minister’s departure may cause more delays. At the moment, it is already delayed for a year. With UEM enjoying close ties with political parties, it should be accepting the offer price. The price that UEM is asking for is not reasonable. If UEM can’t accept the offer, then an open tender should be called within the shortest time,”
